This resource is comprised of a design brief and teachers notes to address the Design and Technologies curriculum.

Through this resource, students will understand the importance of how food and fibre are produced in managed environments to enable people to grow and be healthy. Through this design brief, the students will develop an understanding about how their solutions to design problems can be used to create preferred futures. They will also be given the opportunity to investigate a need and generate an idea that will allow them to address the given need, whilst considering the environmental impacts that result from their chosen design solution.

The resource also addresses the cross-curriculum priority of sustainability and the general capabilities of critical and creative thinking and the personal and social capability.
